Hello and thanks for the question.
I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries.
It seems that you are having
brown spotting and are using
duphaston.
Progesterone is the hormone that helps to keep the baby attached to the mother and causes all the changes of pregnancy. If progesterone is low, pregnancy may abort. Duphaston is a progesterone and helps to prevent abortions by maintaining high levels of progesterone in the body.
You are having spotting. This may be due to either a
threatened abortion, where the baby is alive but may get aborted due to many causes or
missed abortion where the baby is already aborted inside the uterus. If it is a threatened abortion, duphaston will help. If it is a missed abortion, the baby is already bad so duphaston will not help. The best way to know is by doing an
ultrasonography and see the condition of the baby. If the baby is alive, continue the drug, if missed, stop drug and see your doctor.
Also it is preferable to use injection HCG in early pregnancy rather than duphaston to maintain pregnancy.
Kindly discuss these with your doctor, get an
ultrasound done and then decide.
Hope this was helpful.
Thanks for using HCM.
Have a good day.
