Is Taking Duphaston Tablets During Menstruation A Cause For Concern?

Hi Doctor, last year I have diagnosed with PCOS and my obgyne prescribed me duphaston and althea but I did not bought the meds because I was having my regular menstruation back but on this year month of feb I did not have my period and my left breast starting giving sharp pain so in my worry I thought it s because of the PCOS so I bought the medicines already because I want to have my menstruation but as I read through Duphaston s information it is contraindicated to people with breast pains and etc. and it is also not recommended to bleeding? I have already took 6 tablets 2x a day for 3 days. I am confused now and afraid if I m doing the right thing????

You did not took medicines when it was prescribed and now you have taken them without consulting with your gynecologist which is not a right approach
as you were diagnosed with PCOS so your current symptoms are mostly related to PCOS , However left breast pain can be caused by many other underlying causes

Taking 6 tablets of Duphaston in 3 days can further delayed your periods and can even cause heavy bleeding if u stop taking it all of a sudden
and as its been long times since you did not have any check up done so I would strongly suggest you to visit your gynecologist to have your check up done as soon as possible to further evaluate the current problem
