Is Taking Escitalopram Oxalate Safe While Having Allergic Reactions To Oxalate?

i just received an RX for Escitalopram Oxalate. I have allergic reactions to certain foods high in Oxalate like spinach, swiss chard, etc. I am worried about taking this drug. Is the Oxalate the same chemical, is it in low doses? What are your thoughts?

Hello,

Thanks for writing to Health Care magic, I am Dr , Muhammad Ahmad , I have read your question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem.

Usually this combo does not cause allergic reaction in oxalate sensitive people, as food oxalate are different from drugs salts, if your doctor suggested you the med then you can take it , if that cause some problems you can leave it and discuss with your doctor about possible change in the medication.

I would suggest you not to panic this will not cause any big reactions if you take a test does, you can try taking a half dose at first too.

I hope this answered your question, If you have more queries I am happy to answer you.
Regards.
