Is Taking Excedrin Migraine Advisable While On Celebrex For Headaches?

I have headaches, sometimes on and off for weeks. drinking alcohol (small amount) makes it worse. Right side of head. Face, back of eye, to back of head. Can t sleep for days. Husband taking Lorazapam. It helps me. But it s addictive. Excedrin Migraine helps but I m on Celebrex so don t think I can take both together. Need help.

You need to be careful if you are taking Excedrin Migraine (acetaminophen+aspirin+caffeine) and Celebrex (celecoxib) together. Both aspirin and celecoxib are non-steroidal anti inflammatory drug. The combination increases the risk of bleeding and can increase potassium levels in the blood.
I would recommend you to consult a neurologist. There are other medications like propranolol, flunzrazine or topiramate that are helpful in preventing migraine attacks over long term. You can take Excerdin Migraine or Celebrex only in acute headaches.
I hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic.
