Wife has had copious diarrhea, due to a reaction from Doxycline. She has been prescribed Flagyl 500 mg, and Clindamycin HCL 300 mg - due to c-diff reactions after a lengthy hospital stay due to complications from H1N1. Would Fluocinomide 0.1% cream stop the irritation, and would Imodium AD help with the diarrhea?::;::::::
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of diarrhea which could occur due to many reasons such as gastritis or IBS food poisoning and electrolyte imbalances. Need not to worry. You should avoid intake of large foods at a time and take meal at small and frequent intervals. You should take diet rich in multivitamins. I would suggest you to gastroenterologist for proper diagnosis and discuss the condition with him/her. Yes you should start with Imodium. Doctor may prescribe loperamide , ornidazole or laxative along with muscle relaxant. You can start with one imodium tablet. Drink plenty of water and avoid intake of hot, sharp and spicy substances.
