Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I took Lipitor about a week ago and my arms and legs are hurting like a flu like ache. Pain is in in my legs and arms. I have seen my Dr. and since stopped taking it. But the pain is still present. I took blood test. my range was 300 on some reading for damaged tissue . what can I do for this now.
It appears that you had drug (Lipitor) induced myopathy and the abnormal test that you are referring to was probably creatine phosphokinase level. Usually the symptoms start improving gradually after the offending agent is stopped. If you have noticed no improvement after stopping Lipitor, then in my opinion, you should discuss this with your doctor as further investigations like muscle biopsy and electromyogram may be needed.
Best wishes.
