Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
I understand that you have been diagnosed to have an eating disorder and you have been prescribed Metformin by your endocrinologist. Now, regarding your question regarding Metformin, it has to be with caution in people with an eating disorder.
You have not provided with any information about the severity of your eating disorder or how well controlled your problem is. In case you are having significant and active symptoms such as induced vomiting, purging, or other weight-losing behaviour, then you have to be careful. So, I would advise you to inform your doctor about your eating disorder and discuss how to proceed with further treatment.
Wish you all the best.
Regards, Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar Consultant Psychiatrist
