Is Taking Metronidazole And Clarithromycin Safe For H-pylori?

so i was h-pylori positive. i was advised to take amoxcillin and unfortunately it did not work. So now my physcian as told me to take metronidazole and clarithromycin. After reading the side affects of metronidazole i have become quite worried. As they are life threatening and life altering side effects. Please i would like to know if there is any other alternative medicines with less severe side effects that will cure the pylori?

First of all metronidazole is one of first line drug to treat H pylori infection. So it is routinely used to treat h pylori infection. Common side effects include nausea, a metallic taste, loss of appetite, and headaches. Rarely seizures or allergies to the medication may occur, but they could happen with any drug.
You should take metronidazole as prescribed by your doctor, if you are not allergic to it. If you are allergic to it, you could take other options like ornidazole or tinidazole.
