Is Taking Mifepristone Orally And Misoprostol Vaginally Correct Procedure For Abortion?
I am pregnant for approx 40 days. I am not ready for it & i want to abort. I am planning to take 1 mifepristone tablet 200mg orally & then after 24 hours 4 tablets of misoprostol 800 ug through vaginal route. is it the right procedure? Please advise......
Yes, you are true, it is correct method for abortion till 63 days of pregnancy. Although instructions are available on the strip, but I prescribe 48 hours of gap between mefiperistone and misoprostol.
Keep misoprostol deep in side the vagina so that it is kept at the mouth of uterus (cervix), and remain in sleep position for 15 minutes. Ideally you should visit a hospital or keep your doctor informed about this, as some time bleeding may be heavy and you may require doctor's attention.
I hope I have clarified your query. Hit a thanks. Please write to hcm for follow up queries. Thank you.
