Thanks for contacting HCM with your health concern
1. Since symptoms are of acute onset with burning sensation thus could possibly be
herpes zoster infection, so before opting for any treatment do
consult a Dermatologist or Infectious disease specialist who might ask for history of
chicken pox in the past [could be reactivation infection of the chickenpox virus]
2. Vesicle over the tip of the nose is always associated with corneal involvement thus acyclovir eye drops should be used
3. If they are still erupting then tablet herpes [acyclovir], oral steroid and herpex ointment locally are advisable, along with injection Neurobion and capsule B Complex but once the acute stage is over then stop herpex ointment and apply calamine lotion and if there is secondary infection of the vesicles apply soframycin/neomycin ointment
PS. topical steroids are not recommended as studies suggest that they cause the herpes virus to spread instead apply
zinc sulfate ointment
4. Maintain personnel hygiene, saline nasal rinsing is helpful, avoid sharing toothbrush, silverware, drinking glass, clothes from family members
