Hello I have gone through your question and understand your concern. ASA Traid or Samter s Traid is sensitization to asprin and similar compounds. The absence of smell sensation is caused due to inflammation of nasal lining and when smell is affected taste sensation is also diminished as both are closely linked. Oral and nasal corticosteroids like Prednisone or Medrol are not just useful in treating the condition but also have shown to prevent recurrence. The duration of treatment depends upon clinical symptoms, once the symptoms subside medication can be stopped gradually.
