Is Taking Provera Safe While Trying To Get Pregnant?
Hi have concerns relating to hypothyroidsm and getting pregnant. Recently had a blood test and my results came back normal. My periods absent for over 2 months now. Last month i had provera tabs to induce a period . Is it safe for me to try conceiving at this point or should i visit my doctor get my levothyroxine dose increased prior to conceiving ? Am i even able to get pregnant without having my periods ?
Provera is usually used as birth control, so while it's not impossible, it's not likely that you're going to get pregnant while using it. The second thing is that if you aren't having regular periods, again, it's difficult to get pregnant. It sounds like you have some other hormonal imbalances going on. If you're thinking about getting pregnant, I'd recommend seeing an OB-GYN or a fertility specialist, who can go over all the things that you need to have checked, as this is a complicated topic that I need more information to answer.
I hope I have answered your question. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
