Hi & Welcome.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, it is safe to take for the treatment of
acid reflux.
Basically, the standard treatment of acid reflux disease is the use of
proton pump inhibitors which are not only effective in suppressing the acid production but also promote healing as well.
Sucralfate is mainly prescribed in the treatment of
peptic ulcer (stomach or duodenum) as it forms a protective layer on the ulcer to serve as a barrier against acid, bile salts, and enzymes in the stomach. This helps ulcers heal more quickly.
However, its effectiveness as an agent for the treatment of acid reflux is not as well established compared to H2 antagonists or proton pump inhibitors.
If at all it may be taken in suspension form for the treatment of reflux osophagitis however, the healing rates are poor.
As far as other medications are concerned, Alprazolam and Lisinopril-HCTZ are prescribed to relieve anxiety and to lower the high BP. Whereas
Benzonatate is prescribed to treat coughs caused by the
common cold or other breathing problems such as pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma).
Hope this information would be useful to you.
