Is Taking Susten-VT Safe For Enlargement Of Uterus During Pregnancy?

I am 28 week pregnant with an fibroid.I had sever pain in 17th to 22nd week. Now I don,t have that amount of pain. But now my Uterus is enlarged to 36 week. I use Sustue VT 300 once at night from 26th week. Doctor advised me to take it till 33 Week. But it causes vaginal irritation.How will Sustue VT help in pregnancy.

I understand your concern.
Susten is a medication containing hormone progesterone. It is prescribed in doses of 200-300 mg twice a day in patients who are at risk for having abortions.
Progesterone given during pregnancy with fibroids does not shrink the fibroids, but it helps to control the associated bleeding and cramping.
Local vaginal irritation is one of the common side effects which is associated with its use. You can overcome it by rinsing with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon and pH balancing solution like v-wash. You can also apply moisturizer cream at bedtime.
Kindly take the medication as advised.
