Is Taking Zoloft And Mirtazapine In An Elderly Person Advisable?

My mom has been taking Zoloft 100mg for a long period of time. Her doctor is changing her over to mirtazpine 30mg. In hopes it will be more effective. He said for the first two weeks to ween her from the Zoloft to take the Zoloft in the morning and take mirtazapine 30mg. In the evening. My mom is 89 years old and I m concerned that this may be too much medication for her even though it s for two weeks. What are your thoughts?
