Is Taking A Trip For Punta Cana In The Early Stages Of Pregnancy Safe?

I am 6 weeks pregnant and had a trip planned for awhile to an all inclusive resort in Punta Cana on 4/18-4/25. Should I be worried about the various food-borne and water-borne illnesses because I am pregnant? I recently became aware that Shigella is coming to the US from DR. Should I cancel my trip or just take precautions?
