Is Taking Cymbalta Recommended For Mild Depression?
I have very mild depression which I can tie to several difficult losses in family all happening in quick succession. My dr. has prescribed 30 mg. Cymbalta. After reading patient reviews, I think I may be better off not taking this drug. What do you think? (I am functioning fine in my life. I am just sad.
Cymbalta is duloxetine and this is a drug of Serotonin Norepinephrin Reuptake Inhibitors group. The drug acts by correcting the neurotransmission of serotonin and nor-epinephrin which are deficient in depressive and anxiety patients. The drug is a safe drug and nausea, drowsiness, giddiness are only few side effects. In rare cases some sexual side effects are seen in high doses. Over all as per my opinion the drug can be taken without any worry. It will help in improving your depressive symptoms. Patients of mild depression usually don't accept the clinical symptoms and with time the condition progresses to moderate to severe condition. The drug will start showing its effect in 4-6 weeks and you will see improvement.
Cymbalta is duloxetine and it belongs to SNRI group drug. The drug is commonly used in anxiety, mild depression and in pain conditions associated with depression. If you are having mild depression the drug can help in improvement. But before starting drug consult a Psychiatrist for evaluation and diagnosis of depression.
Apart from that try relaxation exercises to keep yourself relaxed. Take diets rich in protein and carbohydrates and low in fat. Such diets will increase tryptophan in brain and will improve depressive symptoms.
Omega 3 Fatty Acid soft gels help in improving mood and anxiety symptoms.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
