Is Taking Fluoroscopic Guided Injection Advisable For Back Pain?
I ve read results from some patients who have used or have had injections of kenolog an the results were not good. My system is very sensitive to medications so I m very careful what I put in my body. I m scheduled for. Injection under fluoroscopy in August for back pain. It s not an epidural. I m seriously considering cancelling . Your opinion will help . Thank you
The fluoroscopic guided injection is used to inject steroid or medicine directly into the joint or affected area. It is done by an ultrasound to guide the needle.
It is given for therapeutic relief from discomfort & pain. It effectively reduces musculoskeletal pain involving tendons, ligaments or sheaths.
Every patient is different, while some do not experience side effects and show a healthy response to the procedure done.
Some complaint of side effects like bleeding, infection, pain, allergy or nerve damage(rare). It is entirely your decision to take the treatment or refuse it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
