Is Taking Lorazanpan During Pregnancy Harmful For The Unborn Baby?

my wife has a anxiety disorder and is pregnant in her third trimester. we have some 1mg loranzapan that she takes only when needed. how critical is this to our baby. I know what the warnings are. She quit colanapin cold turkey during first trimester. ( When we found out). what should we do.

Lorazepam should NOT be taken during pregnancy.
ANd no, not even in the third trimester.
The neonate ( newborn baby ) can have definite withdrawal symptoms.
These include jitteriness, possible convulsions, tremors etc.
But then you know the warnings.
SO do NOT take it.
There are always percentages regarding the risks, no definite guarantee .
So how critical it could be depends on how lucky ( or unlucky ) you are .
Science says do NOT take any lorazepam in the third trimester.
Consult your Neurologist for a suitable alternative.
