Is Termination Of Pregnancy Advisable In Women With Absence Of Foetal Heart Beat?

I habe had 2 ultrasounds. 2 weeks ago no fetal pole but sack estimating 5w5d. 2 weeks later fetal pole measuring 6w1d. Hcg still climbing and measuring 14300 now. No heart beat yet but they are recommending termination. Should I wait since they couldn t find fetal pole in first scan and It was just an estimate off sack size?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Absence of fetal pole and heart beat suggests blighted ovum. The pregnancy is not viable and thus should be terminated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
