Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Testosterone Level Of 12 Ng/dl A Cause For Concern?
I am a 25 year old woman and have testosterone levels of 12 ng/dl. Is this causing my telogen effluvium, occasional heart palpitations, general depression? Normal estradiol, FSH, TSH, progesterone. Normal periods, though a few days shorter than I remember in teens. Been off BCP for 4 months, I had been on it off and on for 8 years.
For women who are more than 19 yrs. testosterone levels between 8-60 ng/dl are normal so I don't think there is any need to worry as your level is 12 ng/dl. You can also talk to your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
