Is The Ibuprofen Dosage Usually 6-8 Hourly?

My 2 year old has a fever. I gave her ibuprofen at 6:00. It is now 10:45 and her temp is going up. I gave her another dose, thinking she could have another dose 4 hours after the last, but I read the back(after giving her the next dose) & it is actually suppose to be 6-8 hours after the last dose. What should I do?

Hi
Welcome to the HCM
I understand your concerns but don't worry. This won't harm him. I would recommend you to go for paracetamol as first line drug for fever spikes. You may repeat the dose after 6-8 hours. Most likely cause of these symptoms are self limiting viral infections which improve without any specific medication within 3-5 days.

Hopefully it will be of help.
Take care
