Is The Acute Pain Below The Left Eyebrow Attributed To Sinus And Will It Go After Undergoing Deviated Nasal Septum Surgery?

Hi Doc, I have been experience from time to time but occasionally acute pai below left eyebrow in the last 15 days. The pain lasts for a couple of minutes and disappear lay. When it pains, it pains acutely and every for that two minutes. I have been duagonised for partial nasal blockage and I am undergoing a surgery for deviated nasal soetuum and clearing the blockage. Is thus pain attributable to the sinus and that issue. Will it go off after the surgery? Thanks Kar

Hi ! Good morning and a Happy New Year 2014 to you. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

Yes, the DNS (deviated nasal septum) could be the cause of the pain below the left eyebrow of yours. However, before attributing DNS to this problem one has to exclude any pathology related directly to the eyes, such as a elevated intra orbital pressure (glaucoma), or a refraction disorder.

If I were your doctor, I would have advised you with some anti inflammatory drug for a symptomatic relief at the same time referring to an ophthalmologist to examine your eyes for excluding problems related directly to the eyes.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
