Is The Following Blood Test Report Normal?

My 2 yr old daughter has been sick a lot in her little life. We have had RSV, pneumonia, and Upper Respiratory Infections, flu, and strep several times. (way more than normal) We have tested her immune system and found she is only deficient in her pneumococcal titers and we will be getting another vaccine. Her recent CBC showed High WBC 13.9 and High platelets 410, high monocytes 1.2 and lymphocytes 4.7 MCV and MCH were low. They will give a pneumonia vaccine and retest in 6 wks. Does this sound normal or should I be pushing for more tests?

Hi,

It's ok to take pneumococcal vaccine if immunoglobulins are low. Her leukocyte count little high so she may need a course of antibiotics if she have infection. Children will have little higher leukocyte count than adult.

Please consult your pediatrician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
