Is The Following Hysterosalpingogram Test Report Normal?
Hi I had hsg I m worried I m 29,findings was the endometrial cavity is unremarkable the contour of the uterine fund us is unremarkable no filling defect is visualize within the pacified endometrial cavity. The right Fallopian tube is not visualized. There is mild hydrosalpinx involving the distal one third of the left Fallopian tube. No spillage is seen from the distal end of the left tube to suggest patency. Can u tell me what this means and is it serious
HSG is a test that checks for the patency of the tubes that connect the uterus with the ovaries and their patency is crucial for conception as conception happens in these tubes and then the fertilized egg goes to the womb. Because the HSG has not documented patency of the tubes, this may be the reason why you may have it difficult to conceive. Your doctor may need to do some more examinations to determine why the tubes are not functioning properly.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
