Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there. I just baked a pie and I think that the oven still had left over cleaning residue or some plastic that started to burn. I took the pie out and there is black residue on the pie. Is it safe to eat or is it still edible? I don t want to waste a pie nordo I want to eat something poisonous.
since you baked the pie in oven then you must have heated it to around 200'c. at such hot temperatures the normal bacteria and fungi gets killed. so you don't need to worry much. however just fo one thing just slice our that portion where the black thing is. and see whether the black thing extends down into the pie if it is extending sown into the pie then it's better to dispose off the pie. if it does not extend then you don't need to worry and enjoy your pie. take care
