Is The Inability To Hear Sounds During Deep Sleep A Medical Condition?
I am a 27 male. I usually wake up around 7:00 int he morning and i work from usually 8 to 8. My wife goes to work when i get home from 9 pm to 2 am. I am usually asleep by 11 or 12 i set my alarm clock for 1:45 and 2:00 am to wake up to go get my wife. The problem is i don t always hear my alarm and sometimes my wife will call me 5 to 10 or 15 times and i don t hear the phone or the alarm. It is very frustrating for her and myself. I can however hear someone come in the room and wake me and when i wake up at 7 am i always hear my alarm and wake up. So my questions is this is there anything i can do to fix thios problem because it is actually causing stress on my marriage and i don t know what to do about it?
I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms are not indicative of any serious medical disorder.
It is just because the different stages of sleep. When your wife calls and you do not hear it, it is because you are in that stage of sleep characterized by deep sleep and low alertness.
Unfortunately there is no way to help you modify this issue.
I would just recommend trying to regulate your waking hours. You can try to sleep at 10 o clock and then you will be able to hear the alarm clock.
Other solutions to your problem would be:
- change working hours - change your work.
Hope to have been helpful!
