Is The Lop Ear Is A Hereditary Disease?

My sister has a new marriage proposal and the guy is normal but with one of his ear is lop ear (kind of closed by the side skin of the ear). So, wanted to know if this abnormality passes to their future babies if my sister marry him ? Please let me know your advise. My email Id is YYYY@YYYY

In my opinion Lop ear is not hereditary problem. It is congenital disease occur due to arrest of growth of ears during intrauterine life. So it won't pass to the future generations. So leave your worries aside and you can plan the marriage of your sister with that person. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions

As per my knowledge lop ear is deformity related to pinna of ear, edge of which is folded down. Lots of case and observational studies have been carried out for the lop ear and they found that it is hereditary problem and there are the chances that it can pass to the future generation
