Is The Medication Of Mucolite Advisable For Cold And Cough For A 2.3-month-old?

Hi my daughter is 2.3yrs and is suffering with cold and she is finding very difficult to breathe as the sputum is stuck in the throat and also with little cough.. Will mucolite work for this or is there any other medicine for this? Please let me know as its quite urgent with the dosage

I understand your concern.
Mucolite syrup is composed of 'Ambroxol', which has a mucolytic and mucokinetic action. It helps to liquify the mucous and also helps to bring out the sputum smoothly.
It can be given for children of 2 years. The recommended daily dose is 1.2-1.6 mg/kg body weight and needs to be administered in 3 divided doses.
Kindly do not exceed the recommended dose.
In case you need any clarification about the dose, you need to consult Pediatrician for the same.
