Is The Result Of Immunochromatography Test Conclusive?
Hi, I must say u guys are doing a wonderful job.... I once had high exposure risk which involved insertive anal sex... 14 weeks later I took an Immunochromatography test which was 1st generation... And then again anxiety and fear made me take another immunochromatography(1st generation test) at 5 months and 1 week exactly post exposure.... My question is ... A) Is my test conclusive? B) Is window period of this test 3 months? thank u so much for answering... I do know modern tests have shorter window period but the test I took were old ones... Plz enlighten me... PS- I had tuberculosis when I was young around 11 or 12 years and I also had an small operation ... I am 20 now...does it anyway affect my tests?
First generation immunochromatographic test is not used nowadays if diagnostic laboratories are using this test results are not accurate and window period cannot be minimised by test it is fixed 3 months and it is best advisable to have a diagnosis of newer generation test so go for it and have full diagnosis with the latest test don't be anxious and fearful.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
