Hi, docs! Thanks for the excellent service you re offering. My husband went for semen analysis and here are the results: Clour: Grey White, pH: 8.0 Liquefaction: 45mins, Viscosity: Normal Volume: 4mls, Days of Abstinence: 1 Living: 15% Motility: 0% very active,10% moderate, 5% slug Abnormal: 28% Total Count: 32million/volume Pus cells 5-6/hpf, RBCs: Nil Spermatid: 3-4/hpf Question: Given the analysis above, 1. How many (total) spermatids can be in 4ml? 2. Could the 1day of abstinence have led to low sperm count (8million)? 1. Is there possibility to conceive?
Hello and welcome to HCM. As an Urologist,i can understand your concern. I'll answer your questions in the same order. 1. There're 8 million sperms per ml in semen. 2. Yes. Normally,2-3days abstinence is needed, for a reliable report. Hence, you will need to repeat this semen test, after a gap of 2-4 weeks. 3. After proper treatment only, one can opine about conceiving. If you've any doubts, you can send me a direct question. Dr.Matthew J. Mangat.
