Is There A Cause For Concern When There Is Indication Of Shortness Of Breath In A Chest X-ray?
Hello, I recently was in the er and had this text taken: CR CHEST PORTABLE SINGLE VIEW and under the section, Narrative , im seeing the words, Exam: Chest, Portable AP, 1 view Indication: -SOB Is this typical or does this in fact have any meaning of importance to me, the patient?
Narrative words are just telling us that, you have been advised XRAY of chest and the X-ray is to be taken in AP view. (This means that anterior of chest is to be faced to the coming rays of XRAY). Indication for this XRAY is SOB (Shortness of breath). These narrations have no particular meaning as far as patient is concerned. However, this is a guiding point for the Radiologist, who is reading the XRAY. Radiologist has to give emphasis on interpreting the points, which may give some clue on the diagnosis of SOB.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
