Is There A Chance Of Fetus Having Arthrogryposis?
My 31 year old brother has Arthrogryposis (from birth of course). I am not sure what type he has but he is mentally sound and is fine from the waist up but has always been unable to walk. He has had arthritis since he was a child and scoliosis. As he has gotten older he has been losing strength in his arms and has been having seizures. I am a 30 year old woman pregnant with my third child, as I already have two healthy sons. Growing up seeing my brother and his condition I am always apprehensive during my pregnancies. What are the chances of my third child having this birth defect? Should I be concerned or is there cause to relax?
