I appear to have a lidocaine/topical anesthesia intolerance. I also have diagnosed adult ADD, as I have lost the hyperactivity aspect. I have a daughter with diagnosed ADD/ADHD. What is the likelihood she will have lidocaine intolerance too? I have had 2 minor procedures performed, by the same family practitioner in his office, and both times, additional topical medication and time was needed to achieve sufficient numbing. The second, most recent, procedure; I had my oldest daughter touch the injected area until I could no longer feel her touch. She then notified the MD that I was ready/numb. I do have natural auburn/red highlights, too. Is there a connection between ADD and lidocaine intolerance and low potassium?
