Is There A Connection Between Ampyra And Tremors Or Caffeine?
I have MS, diagnosed in 1997. Went on disability 2002. Started taking Ampyra last week. Seems like my tremors have increased. I also drank caffeine coffee this morning. Have had tremors all day. Is there a connection between Ampyra and tremors or caffeine. I am 66 years old. I ve done some research online, but haven t found the answer.
Tremors could be due to either of these. Nausea, vomiting, lack of sleep, and tremors are commonly associated side effects of Ampyra. Caffeine consumption can also cause tremors, lack of sleep, increased alertness, etc. So, taken together the risk of getting tremors increases. So, caffeine consumption should be restricted while taking treatment of multiple sclerosis by Ampyra.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
