Is There A Correlation Between Leukemia And Hydradenitis Suppurativa?
I have hidradenitis suppurativa (sorry for spelling), mild but I was on 40mg a day of accutane for 6 months. Did better but its starting to come back. I dont have a primary doctor so I wonder if maybe it could be an underlying disease, I have all the symptoms of leukemia. Has there ever been a link between the two?
no, there are no known published studies/journals on the link between hidradenitis suppurativa and leukemia. it is best if you consult with a doctor, preferably a general surgeon, for physical examination and clinical evaluation of your concern. if it is indeed a chronic or a recurrent case of hidradenitis, definitive management is incision/excision and drainage of the lesion and proper antibiotic regimen. daily wound care, proper hygiene is also advised and avoidance of chemical irritants such as deodorants may also be recommended.
hope this helps.
good day!!
