Is There A Link Between Toothache And Heart Attacks In Women?

Is there a link to a tooth ache and a heart attackes in women? I have had my tooth xrayed and there is no cavity or problem with my roots, yet it is sensitive and sore. My dentist thought that it may be sinuses based on my xray, however I recently heard a story about toothaches and heart attacks in women.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain toothaches and heart attacks are not at all a common finding and although in very rare cases toothache or infection in tooth can lead to infection in the inner wall of heart leading to Bacterial Endocarditis but the chances of occurrence are very low and you need not to worry as you do not have a tooth infection, so the chances of heart attack are negligible..
As if you still have a sore and sensitive tooth it can be due to Dentinal hypersensitivity and you can use a desensitizing toothpaste twice a day for relief..
In case if you are suspected to have a sinus infection then a PNS view of sinuses can help in confirmation..
In case of sinusitis you can be advised antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers, decongestanst oral as well as nasal, steroid nasal sprays and steam inhalattions..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
