Is There A Remedy To Repair The Damaged Skin On The Lips?

Hello, I had a cold sore on the upper left side of my lip and used acetone to speed up the healing which was clearly not a good idea at the time but I was desperate for anything that could augment the healing process. That said, there has been a residual red scarring effect that has left a red abrasion that has not subsided 1.5 months post cold sore onset. Is there a remedy to repair the damaged skin? Or will the healing only subside with time? -Luke

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, after 6 week period of time, further natural healing is not much predictable to great extent in this regard. However, if you can provide the clear photo pic of the damaged skin of lip, I can guide and explore further possibilities as laser therapy, add on natural remedies as aloe vera, hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy or else for final outcome.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
