Is There An OTC Cream For The Treatment Of Painful Intercourse?
I am in my 60 s and intercourse is painful. I tried an O.T.C. cream called NEOGYN that truly made a big difference. It helped quite a bit. but I can no longer find it anywhere. I am extremely reluctant to try the cream that my gynecologist prescribed after I read all the potential side effects. Is there anything short of that prescription cream that will help me? Well I thought this was a free service. Sorry but not going to pay for an answer.
There are some important causes of this pain like vaginal dryness, lack of the hormone estrogen in perimenopausal and menopausal age, fear of pain caused earlier during sex or some other causes like infection, foreign body, and any erosion of the cervix. You can use some creams like, K. Y jelly, you can use some emollients.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
