Is There Any Alternative For Bypass Surgery For Blockage With History Of Having Heart Attack?
my dad had a heart attack 10 years ago...11 this march. he is now having problems with his legs .often paining him. but as a result of his first heart attach his kidneys took a beating. his most recent visit with his cardiologist suggested he wait 6 months to see if there was any improvement. the cardiologist was concerned because there is clearly blockage...but he did not want to go for another angioplasty being fearfull of the damage caused by the die. his kidney specialist seems okay to go ahead based on his # s. are there other alternatives other than bypass surgery. I have found EECP therapy...not sure if it is avaiable in mtl, qc canada? Just wondering if you could suggest anything. Thanks
Hello, If the kidney specialist agrees you have to go on with an angioplasty. Most probably your father will need placement of coronary stents and not bypass surgery. I think you have to try that because other treatments like eecp are hypothetical.
