Is there an alternative to Metformin that doesn t upset stomach? My friend abandoned Metformin because he was in so much discomfort and pain, but his Bs skyrocketed. He refuses to do any on-line research and just takes what he is prescribed and then has more issues and complains. His Dr suggested Glumetza, but when I checked for side effects, they are very similar to the ones Metformin causes. Worth mentioning that he suffers from pancreatitis as well?
