Is There Any Chance Of Getting HIV After A Needle Prick?

Hey , so my mom has diabetes and i always prepare her insulin . so i was putting the needle on the pen and she stabs herself to insert the insulin. so when i was removing the needle it plucked my finger and i started bleeding. will there be any chance of me getting aids or hiv ?

Is your mother HIV positive? You need to worry (in your case) if your mother is HIV-infected.

HIV transmission can occur after needle-prick; the transmission rate is 0.03%. But, this is only if the needle was contaminated with blood or body fluids from an HIV-infected person.
