Is There Any Chance Of Pregnancy After Unprotected Sex As Period Stopped After A Day While On Junel FE?

I am on Junel FE, and just started taking it this month. My husband and I had unprotected sex about three weeks into the pills. I had severe cramps, which are normal for me, and bled for one day (when I took my reminder pill). On the second day, my period stopped. Is there a chance of pregnancy since my period stopped after one day? Or why did my period stop?

If you started taking the pills within a week of starting your period, it is very unlikely that you would have gotten pregnant. The light period is common when you are on the pills, and that is probably the reason why your period was so light. In fact, this is one of the nice things about taking birth control pills - that it makes your periods lighter. You can always check a home pregnancy test if you are really concerned, but I don't think you have anything to worry about.

OBGYN Dr. Saul Weinreb's  Response
Assuming that you started the Junel with your period, or if you switched directly from another form of birth control without any time in between, then you should have been protected from pregnancy when you had sex with your husband. The short period was probably a result of the pills, which often make your periods lighter.
