Is There Any Complication Post A Gallbladder Surgery?
I had a gallbladder surgery on Thursday went home same day after surgery with no complications. But when I went to sleep I woke up several times during the night, that my body was doing a contracting with same movements, and in pain I was bitting my tougue. Did I had a complication after the surgey?
Cholecystectomy is a safe operation but it does have some complications. Yes, you are experiencing post surgery pain, discomfort and may need medical attention and support. The complications include abdominal pain due to intestinal injury, indigestion, diarrhea, jaundice and flatulence or constipation.
Other complications may be due to infection, bile leakage, injury to the bile duct, bleeding, deep vein thrombosis, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP and get a follow up treatment done. Get treated at the earliest. You may need intravenous antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and fluid support.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
