Is There Any Correlation Between Elevated Level Of Bilirubin And Food Poisoning?
My son is 15 his bilirubin is 2.9.... He threw up 2 weeks ago possible food poison ...,his gallbladder was contracted on ultrasound... Is there any correlation with elevated level of bilirubin and food poisoning??? He s been very nauseated and throwing up some since eating crab 2 weeks ago... Abdominal pain every day and irregular bowel movements
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern. Yes dear, there might be elevated bilirubin associated with food poisoning as seen in typhoid fever, Celiac Disease, etc . Increased bilirubin level may be due to DEHYDRATION also. However common cause of increased bilirubin are liver disorders such as Chronic Hepatitis B, C , Acute hepatitis A B, Autoimmune Hepatitis etc
You should consult him a physician for proper diagnosis
