I am type 2 Diabetic for the last 25 years. Age 67 years. No heart, liver, kidney problem except Prostate problem. Present sugar level is Fasting : about 100; PP 180-190; HbA1c : 6.5 Presently taking Glimisave M1 forte one tab morning and 1 tab night. Should I change the medicine? Email: YYYY@YYYY
Hello and welcome to HCM, Your glucose levels are in control, both current and over past 6 months. The fasting blood glucose of 100 mg/dl is good. The post-prandial blood glucose upto 180-190 is accetable. It should be below 200 mg/dl. HbA1c looks after the blood glucose levels in the past 6 months. A value of 6.5 indicates failr control. This is acceptable. However, you should try to get levels upto 6.
The medication and all other measures that you are taking are good. Continue these measures and get your retina checked up every 6 months to rule out any changes of diabetic retinopathy.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
