Is There Any Doctor Available To Interpret This Report?
My results, Uterus is anteverted and measures8.2x6.6x3.1cm.There is heterogeneity of myometrial echotexture withou discrete fibroid formation.Normal thickness endometrium of 4.3mm.Nabothian cervical cyst incidentally noted. There is a cyst 2.8x2.1x2.2cm in diameter in the left ovary appearing within normal limits. I am 53,and not sure how serious that can be.I do feel pain, have my period on and off every 3 or 4 months still, and when I had a partner when I had intercourse was painful. Also had a Cesarian birth when 39,first child with tube ligation. Do I need to have an operation? Is it better to have hysterectomy? What is your advise? Thank you
Hello and welcome to HCM, The interpretation of the ultrasound report is as follows: The uterus is lying in normal position i.e. anteversion. The myometrium or the muscle layer is within normal limits. The endometrium measures 4.3 mm in thickness. Nabothian cysts in the cervix is a non-neoplastic lesion and is a part of chronic non-specific cervicitis. One of the ovaries contain a cyst measuring 2 cm in greatest diameter. Off and on periods are seen during peri-menopausal period i.e. when menopause is going to set in.

Pain during intercourse can occur due to many reasons- cervical erosion, ectropion, pelvic inflammatory disease etc are few of them. Currently there is no indication for hysterectomy. However, you can consult your gynecologist. Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
