I warmly Welcome you!
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. Well
psoriasis is a long lasting disease and remissions are not uncommon. I am happy you have got some relief and I pray for your healthy life ahead.
Whether you need only topicals or oral+topicals, it depends on the severity and you only have it on the scalp, so topical will help a lot in your case.
■The preliminary step is to soften and remove scales on the scalp. This makes it easier for medications to show thier effects better when applied topically.
Topical
selenium sulfide containing drugs help soften the scales. It is available OTC.
■
Salicylic acid shampoo is good for taking a shower, to help remove crusts and help improve the condition.
Use a regular conditioner after the shampoo to help reduce itching.
■After the shower never use the Blow Dryer as it will increase itch. While your hair are wet, apply Vaseline jelly to the scalp to keep scales softened.
■If you get
scalp inflammation (
redness, swelling of scalp areas) ask your physician for
steroid injections into the scalp. It will relieve inflammation. If you feel lymph nodal swellings in head and neck area and fever, it is high time for antibiotics therapy as this is infection in the scalp.
■Apply Anthracin cream to scalp in the day.
■Apply
Calcipotriene (Vit. D) and leave it overnight.
■Apply Tezarotene (Vit. A) gel.
■Go out in sunlight and let UV light directly fall on your scalp area. It is best natural medicine for you.
Hope it helps. This is a bit complicated treatment but it needs longterm and consistent medical care. I hope it will best support you. If you need further assistance, feel free to contact me anytime.
Regards!
