Hi,
Parkinson's disease can't be cured, but medications can help control your symptoms, often dramatically. In some later cases, surgery may be advised. Your doctor also may recommend lifestyle changes, especially ongoing aerobic exercise. In some cases physical therapy that focuses on balance and stretching also is important
Parkinsons disease is degenerative disease of brain and symptoms progresses .There are variety of treatment including dopamine supplementing group of drugs, deep brain stimulator. All these will alleviate symptoms. With the recent development of effective gene delivery systems, gene therapy for the central nervous system is finding novel applicationswhich can cure parkinson disease in future presently it is in phase ! clinical trials
My husband also had parkinson's disease. he had shaking of hands, unable to stand properly, walk. He was unable to take food, unable to sign a check or write, he was totally handicapped. We saw a neurologist, he was put on lot of medications. Now he is ok, doctor told it will take time, he is also taking lot of physiotherapy
No, no permanent cure, only control with medications. My father is having the same. But under control. I met a dietician also who advised some things for dad.
My uncle had that, he is no more now. He used to have typical features which I read over internet. There is a beautiful article about it here, please read http://www.healthcaremagic.com/articles/Parkinsons-disease-or-Shaking-palsy/7699
