Is There Any Possibility Of Pregnancy As I Missed My Periods And Have Cramping?
37 Years Old, Always Regular Periods, Recently put on 25mcg Levothyroxine for Hypothyroidism, Now 6 days late with period, after recent bloodwork DR increased to 50mcg Levothyroxine started today. Also went for pregnancy blood work today and have not heard from lab as of yet. Have cramping but no period. Did do home pregnancy test two days ago and it was negative. Thoughts??
It is possible that this is the cause if pregnancy is ruled out.
Other possible causes are : (1)emotional stress (2)physical stress or illness (3) high levels of a hormone called prolactin (4)inadequate diet (5)extreme physical activity (6)polycystic ovarian syndrome
Hi,Welcome to Health care magic forum. The irregular periods after starting the levothyroxine, may be due to the thyroxine, anemia, or may be due to the infection. Thyroid being harmone it can interfere with the periods. I advise you to consult a gynecologist for diagnosis and treatment. If there is infection or anemia the doctor will treat the cause. Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery.
